Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born on August 19, 1965. She is an American actor and producer. Her most well-known character is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. Following the conclusion of the seventh season the show was canceled on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role in the role of Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian, of English descent. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish heritage and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
